Yesterday I had the doubtful pleasure to install Windows on a laptop. And while I didn't spent much love customizing it I at least needed a decent web browser. As someone put it the Internet Explorer is the "best browser for downloading a better browser". :) Okay, the default search engine is Bing. So let's search for "Google Chrome". And what did I see?

Microsoft is sponsoring two well-known scammers charging you lots of bucks for downloading a piece of free software! I have never trusted Microsoft personally. I doubt that this experience is changing my mind. Sometimes Google scares me for what they might do with my data. But fortunately there are still companies who without a doubt do evil.

microsoft is not sponsoring here - they are *getting sponsored* for displaying ads. and its probably all automatic: BADBOY gets some advertising "credits" from the bing site (maybe like google adwords where everyone gets a free $50 trial), enters search words (chrome, download, tits) and bang - when someone searches for these, the ad link gets shown. think about it. instead of bullying you better should have sent a complaint to their abuse team, I am pretty sure the ad would have been removed in no-time because the advertised site isnt compatible with the bing advertisement TOS.
I'm aware that the ad

I'm aware that the ad selection is likely automatic. Just was my finding of the day. Besides… I'm not supporting Microsoft as a company nor their users unless I'm getting paid for it. ;)
