[Workaround.org] Postfix not rejecting internal emails to mis-typed addresses

I was using the Postfix-Courier solution and recently upgraded to the
Postfix-Dovecot solution when I migrated to a new mail server. As I
didn't want to rebuild the mysql user tables in the new format I stayed
with the old style of full email address in one table.
The problem I have is that Postfix is accepting emails (from internal
users only) to non-valid account names in my virtual domains and
creating mail folders for them.
i.e. If there's a valid user account jsmith I see the following folders:
jsmit jsmithh jjsmith etc
I've been through the configs but I can't see what's causing the
problem. Could one of you gurus please give me some help?
