Problem with spam and spam folders
Some time ago, I have set up a mail server by using this great tutorial
with multiple domains and users. It works very well. Some users
use POP3, the others IMAP.
For a backup, I noticed now that most users didn't delete their spam
folders.
Unfortunately I have no idea in shell programming, I hope that someone can
help me.
First -
is there a possibility like the script to delete the mails, also to delete
the contents of the individual spam folders by going through the spam mails
and delete all
mails older than for example 2 Weeks ?
The command "find /home/vmail/ -wholename '*.spam*'" finds all spam-folders
and
spam-mails - but what now. I have no idea, to use this or make a script as
cronjob ???
----------------------
The 2nd thing:
If I want to remove spams by hand from the spamfolders, I get the following
error message:
- Bash: / bin / rm: the argument list is too long
What does that mean? Can I spams not even manually delete.
------------------------
And the 3rd thing
The third issue concerns the POP3 access. User will not receive as
spam-denoted mails.
Also special here is a spam folder on the server and the mail accumulate in
these folders.
However, the user has not even here the opportunity to manually delete.
Is that correct behavior, or have I done something wrong.
I would be very grateful for help.
Peter
