Ok, but I doubt you start your dovecot with the dovecot.conf you
showed earlier in this thread.
Which, by the way, showed that you sometimes left the path of the
tutorial.

You can remove them if you don't use them. But you should be sure
about wether you use it or not.

These should be the only ones you use.
Do you get something additionally back if you use 'sudo find / -name
dovecot*'?
Despite this all it might be worth a shot to upgrade to 1.2 from
backports.org. A lot of errors and strange behaviour just disappear
with the upgrade.
